Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
• CAC Certification is required.
• 2–3 years’ experience in health center registration/billing with knowledge of registration, insurance and billing.
• Knowledge of private, public and third-party payer insurance regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiar with Epic and OCHIN PM Systems.
• Analytical with strong math skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bi-lingual in Haitian Creole or Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and financial data for enrollment.
• Document data in EMR and related systems accurately.
• Screen self-pay patients for payment or discount options based on income and family size.
• Collect initial payments and review prior balances.
• Establish secured installment plans per policy.
• Monitor and follow up on active self-pay balances to optimize collections.
• Review queues and aged balances to collect past due amounts.
• Field billing inquiries and refer to Revenue Cycle staff as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of reimbursement policies and customer service standards.
• Collaborate with Patient Access and other departments; perform other duties as assigned.
