Mystic Healthcare in Mystic, CT is seeking a full-time Food Services Director to lead the Dietary Department and ensure meals meet medical and nutritional needs.

The role collaborates with the Dietitian, Administrator, and Nursing Director to deliver safe, appetizing meals while maintaining compliance and resident satisfaction.

Strong leadership, food safety knowledge, and ability to manage budgets and staff are essential; state and federal inspections readiness is required.

Qualifications

• Must satisfy applicable federal and Connecticut requirements for food service or dietary managers.
• Coursework or certifications in food safety and management are preferred.
• Two years of experience as a Director of Food and Nutrition Services in a nursing facility or equivalent setting.

Responsabilités

• Direct and oversee the overall operation of the Dietary Department, including food preparation, meal service, staffing, sanitation, infection control, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
• Supervise daily activities of all dietary personnel and ensure staff training.
• Recruit, interview, train, schedule, evaluate, and supervise dietary staff.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, attractive, palatable, and served at appropriate temperatures.
• Collaborate with the Dietitian on menu planning and compliance with dietary orders.
• Maintain documentation such as temperature logs, staffing schedules, and QA reports.
• Manage the department budget and monitor costs.
• Prepare for state, federal, and local inspections and participate in QA activities.
