Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is seeking an Assistant General Counsel (Contracting/Regulatory) to join our Law Department in Boston. The role provides strategic counsel on provider and vendor agreements, regulatory compliance, and government programs, including Medicare.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of contracting or regulatory experience, strong business judgment, and healthcare experience. You will partner with Government Programs, Network Contracting, and Procurement to navigate

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing of at least one state bar; MA in-house registration.
• Minimum six years contracting or regulatory experience; in-house preferred; healthcare experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support to Procurement, drafting, negotiating, and evaluating vendor agreements across healthcare, software, consulting, and service contracts.
• Provide legal advice to Network Contracting on network provider agreements and state/federal regulatory issues.
• Advise on compliance with state and federal law, focusing on Medicare program requirements and data privacy/security.
