Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Willoughby Hills Family Health Center seeks a Voice Communication Specialist to operate telecommunication consoles and related equipment, coordinating essential messages for staff and patients. This day shift, 8:00am–5:00pm, offers a steppingstone to other roles within the Cleveland Clinic system.

You will route and log calls, place local and international lines, arrange conference calls, assist patients with dialing, provide paging services, and support telex and fax

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1 year of Call Center or telephone operator experience or 2 years of Customer Service experience.
• Understanding of networking/distributed computing concepts and client/server configurations.
• Excellent knowledge of messaging technology and project management skills.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and screen calls to route them and provide system usage information.
• Place and log outgoing local/long-distance/international calls per procedures.
• Direct conference calls for hospital staff per procedures.
• Assist patients with dialing instructions and answering questions.
• Provide paging services and support telex/fax communications as needed.
• Process group alert tests twice daily.
• Expedite emergencies using paging procedures.
• Assist with pages by updating program settings on page systems.
• Handle calls with telephone equipment including backup systems.
• Help staff contact on-call physicians and other on-call personnel.
• Provide outside callers with medical assistance by contacting on-call physicians.
• Operate various telecommunication and fax systems.
