Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health in Vermont seeks a Capital Projects Director to plan, design and oversee large-scale facilities programs. You will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure completion on time and within scope.

Responsibilities include coordinating with architects, engineers, facilities staff and vendors, driving compliance with safety and infection control, and relocating staff as needed. A 5–8 year track record in healthcare capital projects is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or other relevant required.
• 5-8 years related work experience required.
• An understanding of the principles and practices of managing the design and construction of capital facilities projects.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Project required.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Directs, facilitates, and oversees the planning, design and construction of capital facilities projects to ensure alignment with scope, budget and timeline.
• Manages design consultants, construction contractors and vendors; serves as project lead with architect, engineers and construction manager.
• Coordinates with BIDMC staff to align project phases with impacted departments and mitigate construction impacts and operational issues.
• Oversees relocation of Medical Center staff and ensures equipment, furniture and other items are procured and installed.
