Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Operator Representative I for the Digital Communications Center. This onsite role supports call centers and paging operations at the BWH Main Campus, 75 Francis St, with a 40-hour workweek and a 9:00 am–5:30 pm schedule Tuesday through Friday.

Responsibilities include handling calls, paging operations, and maintaining accurate paging records while ensuring privacy and professional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to type 35 wpm and use common Windows software.
• Phone-based customer service or call center experience required.
• Hospital/medical environment experience preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming and outgoing calls promptly and courteously.
• Process paging requests and update pager status as needed.
• Issue and return pagers; keep directory and databases current.
• Recognize codes (medical, fire, internal/external disasters) and act.
• Respond to patient information inquiries while protecting privacy.
• Assist with staff on-call schedules and escalation to supervisor.
• Operate answering service per prescribed guidelines.
• Perform duties at multiple locations as needed.
• Adhere to Mass General Brigham values in decisions and actions.
