Job summary

Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell is seeking a skilled Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our care team. This full-time role offers a competitive weekly pay range of $23 to $25 per hour, based on experience, and supports the finance team in day-to-day accounting tasks.

The AR Assistant will discuss billing with residents, maintain records, secure cash, and back up payroll. Medicaid redeterminations will be handled as applicable, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Six months of experience in bookkeeping or accounting practice; health care accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Responsibilities

• Discuss billing situations with residents and/or responsible parties, including the Director of Finance
• Maintain accurate and timely records and reports, including all accounts, journals, deposits, ledgers, and more
• Secure all cash and valuables on hand, per policy
• Back-up for the Payroll position
• Complete Medicaid redeterminations when applicable
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Financial Services
