Job summary

Calvert County Nursing Center is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to assist the Admissions Director in meeting census goals by coordinating with the clinical team. The role focuses on managing the admissions process, referrals, and sign-in, while upholding resident dignity and a positive image to residents, families, and peers.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience in healthcare admissions/marketing, long-term care experience, Medicare and billing knowledge, and strong customer

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in Admissions/Marketing in a healthcare environment.
• Long-Term care experience required.
• Knowledge of Medicare and 3rd party billing.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Able to travel locally by personal automobile.

Responsibilities

• Record inquiries, admissions, discharges and assist with census reports.
• Maintain daily/monthly census records and coordinate with Business Office for accuracy.
• Follow up on referrals promptly.
• Schedule and conduct tours for customers, families and referrals.
• Ensure paperwork is signed and distributed per Admission Sign-In policy.
• Coordinate with Admissions Director, Administrator and clinical staff on admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Review performance metrics on customer flow, inquiries, denials, and sales activity.
• Assist with promotions, publications, and newsletters.
• Present facility information to hospitals, physicians, and referral sources.
• Serve as point-of-contact when Admissions Director is unavailable.
