Job summary

Carolina Dunes Behavioral Health is seeking an Intake Coordinator to serve as the single entry for admissions, handling phone triage, data collection, pre-registration, and insurance verification onsite. You will coordinate with hospital staff and external providers to ensure timely admissions.

The role requires strong communication, ability to gather authorization, schedule assessments, and provide crisis intervention when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field preferred.
• 1+ year experience in healthcare admissions.
• Experience in patient assessment, referrals, treatment planning and external review communications.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Outstanding interpersonal and interviewing skills.
• Telephone etiquette and paging procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-admission screenings and schedules assessments.
• Provides call center coverage; answers phones, verifies insurance and assists with pre-certifications.
• Collaborates with admissions, nursing, and staff to ensure timely admissions.
• Directs inquiries to appropriate agencies and resources.
• Maintains documentation of admissions processes and communications with referrals.
