UnityPoint Health is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to support nursing, physicians and families. The HUC will manage desk operations, facilitate bed status updates, and serve as the Epic liaison to clinicians.

The role requires high school diploma, keyboarding, strong communication, and data-entry skills; weekend and holiday rotation; 0.8 FTE (32 hours/week) on day and PM shifts.

The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) coordinates communication between nursing staff, physicians, other departments, professional staff, patients, and families relating to patient care. The HUC facilitates unit operations through knowing and communicating information, managing the desk area, facilitating the use of technology, monitoring and communicating bed status, and coordinating downtime procedures. The HUC utilizes Epic to facilitate patient care orders and serves as an Epic resource to physicians and the nursing staff.
