Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Health Unit Assistant to coordinate communication among nursing staff, physicians and families and to facilitate unit operations. The HUC uses Epic to support patient care orders and acts as an Epic resource for clinicians.

The 0.5 FTE position shifts PM, requires a High school diploma, keyboard skills and strong organizational abilities, with benefits and a competitive rewards program.

Job Description

The Health Unit Assistant (HUA) coordinates communication between nursing staff, physicians, other departments, professional staff, patients and families relating to patient care. The HUC facilitates unit operations through knowing and communicating information, managing the desk area, facilitating the use of technology, monitoring and communicating bed status, and coordinating downtime procedures. The HUC utilizes Epic to facilitate patient care orders and serves as an Epic resource to physicians and the nursing staff.
