Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Madison, WI is hiring a Health Unit Assistant (HUA) for a 0.5 FTE, day shift position. The role supports nursing staff, physicians and families, coordinates bed status and uses Epic for orders.

The Health Unit Assistant (HUA) coordinates communication between nursing staff, physicians, other departments, professional staff, patients and families relating to patient care. The HUC facilitates unit operations through knowing and communicating information, managing the desk area, facilitating the use of technology, monitoring and communicating bed status, and coordinating downtime procedures. The HUC utilizes Epic to facilitate patient care orders and serves as an Epic resource to physicians and the nursing staff.
