Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the Birthing Center. The role involves interpreting and transcribing orders to support patient care, acting as the unit's primary receptionist, and coordinating communication among staff, physicians and families.

You will also help maintain supplies and request service for equipment. The position is part-time at 0.8 FTE with a night shift, and benefits eligibility applies.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Notary Public may be obtained after hire.

The primary function of the Health Unit Coordinator - Birthing Center is interpretation, transcription and assistance in the implementation of orders for all aspects of patient care. The Health Unit Coordinator serves as the primary receptionist for the nursing unit and coordinates communication among nursing staff, physicians, other departments, professional staff, patients and families. In addition, the Health Unit Coordinator maintains adequate supplies for the nursing unit and may request service for the maintenance of unit equipment.
