Job summary

UnityPoint Health - Meriter seeks a Health Unit Assistant (HUA) to coordinate communication among nursing staff, physicians, patients, and families using Epic.

The HUA supports unit operations, monitors bed status, and serves as an Epic resource for orders and staff.

• Coordinate communication between nursing staff, physicians, other departments, patients and families relating to patient care.
• Coordinate desk operations and unit workflow to support patient care.
• Utilize Epic to facilitate patient care orders and serve as Epic resource for staff.
• Support downtime procedures and bed status monitoring.

The HUC facilitates unit operations through knowing and communicating information, managing the desk area, facilitating the use of technology, monitoring and communicating bed status, and coordinating downtime procedures. The HUC utilizes Epic to facilitate patient care orders and serves as an Epic resource to physicians and the nursing staff.
