Job summary

UnityPoint Health-Meriter is seeking a Health Unit Assistant to provide essential administrative and clerical support on the unit. You will help manage patient flow, assist with unit activities, and serve as a central contact for staff, patients, families, and other departments.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with periodic weekend and holiday rotation is provided

• Attend CNA orientation during first week as required.

The Health Unit Assistant (HUA) provides essential administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth operations within a healthcare unit. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The HUA serves as a central point of contact for staff, patients, families, and other departments, assisting with administrative functions, patient flow, and assisting with unit activities.
