The Gilbert Bain Hospital in Shetland is seeking a Health Records and Clinical Coding Manager for a full-time role (36 hours/week). The post sits within the Elective Services Team and reports to the Planned Care Operational Manager, offering leadership across health records and coding functions.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree and demonstrate senior-level informatics and business administration experience, with strong communication and leadership skills to drive service

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent communication and leadership skills to join our management team. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive health records service and assisting with the development and implementation of new technology in line with the eHealth strategy.

Substantive Post

Full Time – 36 hours per week

Band 7 - Salary Range £52,845 - £61,466 per annum

Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum

You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive health records service and assisting with the development and implementation of new technology in line with the eHealth strategy.

This post is a key role within the Elective Services Team and will report to the Planned Care Operational Manager. We are looking for someone who can provide proactive leadership and support the Health Records and Reception Team Leaders in developing their services and providing staff training.

The successful candidate will have a relevant first degree and will be able to demonstrate experience at a senior level, of informatics and business administration.
