Job summary

Harmon Memorial is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to evaluate and monitor patient records for regulatory compliance. You will abstract clinical data, scan documents, and ensure accurate recordkeeping in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities include collecting records, scanning, indexing, and maintaining confidentiality while adhering to CMS and state requirements. Prior experience and an associate degree are preferred; strong English communication is required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in related field preferred.
• Three months related experience.
• Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient records from appropriate locations daily.
• Scan records to appropriate medical record and form ID.
• Analyze medical records for completeness and accuracy according to hospital policy.
• Abstract clinical data with accuracy.
• Enter deficiencies into the system for completion.
• Release protected health information adhering to laws and regulations.
• Perform QC of records scanned for accuracy.
• Collect EKGs and maintain scan logs.
• Assist with backup coverage of the window.
• Maintain confidentiality and timely communication with supervisor.
