The Clinical Population Health Care Management Branch at the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is seeking a dynamic Health Program Specialist II who is passionate about implementing new policy and driving meaningful change in a start up–like environment. This position plays a key role in monitoring and driving improvement in care management services for Medi-Cal members served in the Fee for Service (FFS) delivery system. Ideal candidates will possess excellent analytical skills, thrive in a fast paced setting, and be eager to help DHCS strengthen and enhance the quality of its care management and population health programs. This Specialist will lead efforts to understand how FFS members receive care management services, identify opportunities to improve access and quality, lead design of monitoring measures and a monitoring approach in this area.

This position is subject to the Department's Conflict of Interest Code and filing a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) when assuming office, annually while in office, and upon leaving office.

This position is currently eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change consistent with DHCS’ Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 – 14203. Telework is available to California residents, and proof of residency may be required. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated office and residence subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
