Job summary

Banner Health is seeking an experienced Training Designer to develop and deliver internal and external training programs for the Banner Plan Network department. This hybrid role combines strategic curriculum design with a mix of remote work and essential on‑site facilitation, with regular travel across Arizona.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 4 years of healthcare training experience, including proficiency with Storyline and Captivate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Instructional Design, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field.
• 4+ years of specialized training experience in healthcare or ed‑tech, with at least 2+ years in healthcare/clinical setting.
• One certification in evidence‑based practices (e.g., Trauma‑Informed Care, Grief & Loss, Cultural Competency & Diversity, Crisis De‑escalation, Motivational Interviewing, ASIST/SafeTalk, QPR).
• Ability to translate complex ideas into clear educational content using adult learning theory and instructional design principles.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with diverse audiences.
• Experience translating regulations, clinical procedures, and software systems into training content.

Responsibilities

• Health Plan Curriculum Design: Design and develop training programs meeting regulatory compliance, member safety guidelines, and clinical standards.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work with health plan leadership, clinicians, and SMEs to create engaging learning paths.
• Assess training needs with department leaders and performance data.
• Maintain and update training curriculum for policy and regulatory changes.
• Program Evaluation: establish metrics and feedback to measure effectiveness.
• Coordinate schedules, track certifications, monitor budgets.
• On‑Site Facilitation across Arizona and conduct practical workshops.
