Job summary

Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College is seeking a Director of Health Occupations to lead health programs within Economic and Workforce Development and Continuing Education. The role oversees accreditation, aligns with industry standards, and builds partnerships with clinical agencies to expand offerings.

You will supervise senior staff and faculty, manage a budget, and report to the VP of Economic and Workforce Development as a key member of the division’s leadership team.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Must have five years of full-time or equivalent work experience as a registered nurse.
• Must have two years of full-time or equivalent instructional experience in higher education.
• Must have two years of full-time or equivalent administrative work experience.
• Must have supervisory experience.
• Must have an unrestricted RN License to practice in NC.
• CPR-AHS certification must be held.

Responsibilities

• Leads strategic planning and execution of health occupations programming within Economic and Workforce Development and Continuing Education.
• Oversees accreditation and compliance with state, regional and national boards.
• Fosters partnerships with clinical agencies and community organizations to expand program offerings.
• Drives innovation and new program development in response to industry needs.
• Supervises Associated Director and senior staff/FT faculty and manages the department’s budget.
• Reports to the VP of Economic and Workforce Development and serves on the division leadership team.
