Job summary

Wilkes Community College seeks a Program Coordinator of Health Occupations to lead and coordinate its health occupations programs, including Nursing Assistant tracks and phlebotomy, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality workforce training across campuses.

The role includes program leadership, instructional support, and collaboration with clinical partners to advance student success and workforce readiness.

Qualifications

• Requires RN licensure in North Carolina.
• Requires at least 2 years RN experience in the United States.
• Requires an associate’s degree from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative oversight for Health Occupations continuing education programs across the College’s service area.
• Coordinate program operations using a One College approach across campuses and locations.
• Develop short- and long-range plans aligning with institutional priorities and workforce needs.
• Ensure programs stay current with industry standards, regulations, and state requirements.
• Maintain compliance with College policies, state guidelines, and regulatory agencies.
• Recruit, hire, orient, and evaluate adjunct instructors in line with guidelines.
• Teach Nursing Assistant I (Nurse Aide I) courses as assigned and ensure compliance with requirements.
