Job summary

Horizon Behavioral Health seeks a Health Information Technician in Lynchburg, VA. The role focuses on maintaining, filing, retrieving, and securely destroying client health information across multiple systems and formats.

You will work with clients, providers, case managers, and external partners to ensure accurate information handling. Requirements include a high school diploma with preferred associate’s degree or HIM/EHR cert, plus experience in a medical office and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred in business/medical, HIM, EHR, or related certification.
• One year of general office work experience with computer software including Microsoft Office and scanning.
• Two years of experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, file, retrieve, and securely dispose of client health information across Horizon systems and formats.
• Collaborate with Horizon clients, decision-makers, staff, clinicians, and external entities to ensure accurate information handling.
• Meet productivity standards and be willing to work modified schedules including weekends or holidays.
