Job summary

Advantage Behavioral Health Systems is seeking a Health Information Management Technician (Medical Records) to maintain the integrity, security, and accessibility of client health information. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Records Technician certification or AHIMA credential required.
• 3 years of medical records or health information management experience, or 1 year equivalent to MRT II.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize client medical records and documentation.
• Review records for completeness and accuracy.
• Process authorized requests for protected health information.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
• Maintain record tracking, filing, scanning, and retrieval systems.
• Assist with coding, indexing, and records management activities.
• Resolve documentation discrepancies and support compliance initiatives.
• Prepare reports and maintain health information databases.
• Support audits, accreditation reviews, and quality improvement activities.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
