Job summary

Windmoor Healthcare is seeking a Health Information Specialist to support the HIM department's daily operations, ensuring accurate medical record handling and coding. The role includes chart assembly, timely processing, purging and indexing records, and maintaining confidentiality of patient information.

Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CMS and AHIMA conventions is valued, with the ability to collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure proper documentation and compliant record management.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Healthcare field preferred.
• 3-5 years medical record experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Self-directed and self-motivated.
• RHIT and CCA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily HIM operations to support department goals.
• Chart assemble and analyze; process medical records in a timely manner.
• Purging and indexing of records; record retrieval and filing.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and proper release of records.
