Job summary

Natchitoches Regional Medical Center is seeking a Health Information Manager to lead the Health Information Management Department and serve as Privacy Officer. Responsibilities include ensuring HIPAA compliance, overseeing credentialing, and maintaining the chargemaster while coordinating with hospital leadership.

The role requires a BS in Health Information Administration, AHIMA certification, and at least three years in a management role in an acute care setting accredited by JCAHO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Health Information Administration.
• Current AHIMA certification.
• Minimum of three years in a management role in an acute care facility accredited by JCAHO.

Responsibilities

• Integrate the HIM service with the hospital’s primary functions.
• Coordinate Medical Staff Credentialing processes for appointment and reappointment.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance across the department and organization.
• Maintain and update the chargemaster with CPT/HCPCS and revenue codes.
• Respond to RAC requests for patient records and appeals as needed.
• Supervise all associates in the Health Information Management Department.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Health Information Administration

Current certification by the American Health Information Management Association

Minimum of three years prior experience in a management position in an acute care facility accredited by JCAHO
