Job summary

AltaPointe Health Systems seeks a Health Information Management professional to oversee the organization and maintenance of health information systems within the primary care continuum.

The role ensures adherence to privacy regulations, coordinates the release of protected health information, and leads audits. It requires RHIT credential and relevant HIM management experience, with knowledge of ICD-9 and DSM-IV-TR.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with RHIT credential.
• Coding credential (CCS, CCS-P, CPC) preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, confidentiality and privacy.
• Experience managing HIM functions and audits.
• Familiarity with DMH/Medicaid/Medicare standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee organization and maintenance of health information systems.
• Ensure compliance with health information laws and privacy regulations.
• Coordinate release of protected health information per policy.
• Lead audits and monthly reporting of HIM activities.
• Coordinate dictation and transcription workflows as needed.
• Work with Finance to prevent revenue cycle disruptions.
• Provide staff training on policy updates and changes.
• Coordinate medical record documentation forms and procedures.
• Engage with OCR during reviews and investigations.
• Apply knowledge of ICD-9 and DSM-IV-TR where required.
