Monarch Healthcare Management seeks a Health Information Manager to maintain the integrity of the health information system and medical records for every resident, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and confidentiality. The HIM oversees compliance, privacy, and security of the information environment across the facility.

Responsibilities include HIPAA compliance, release of information, census data integrity, admissions records management, discharge documentation, and leadership in QAPI

Qualifications

• HIPAA confidentiality and regulatory compliance are essential.
• Knowledge of regulations, survey process, documentation requirements and legal issues.
• Understanding of Medicare/Medicaid payment systems.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Long-term care or healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Health Information Security & HIPAA Compliance: safeguard records per HIPAA and regulations.
• Release of Information & Record Retention: manage requests and compliant filing/destruction.
• Census Management & Data Integrity: maintain daily census, case mix changes, pay status with audit trails.
• Admission & Ongoing Records Management: coordinate admissions, maintain records, audits, physician signatures.
• Discharge Record Completion & Quality Review: oversee discharge docs, track deficiencies, ensure timely completion.
• Department Leadership, QAPI & Collaboration: supervise HI staff, support HIPAA compliance and QAPI initiatives.
