Job summary

Dovel Technologies, Inc seeks an Health Information Management Manager to lead the HIM department in Birmingham, AL. You will develop policies, ensure compliance with JCAHO standards, and oversee data reporting and staff management.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in HIM/Health Informatics, AHIMA RHIA/RHIT certification, and 7+ years of relevant experience, with leadership and process-improvement skills.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in health information management, health informatics, or related field.
• RHIA or RHIT certification by AHIMA is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience; 10 years preferred.
• Experience as an HIM manager in multi-facility settings is desirable.
• Experience implementing a new EHR and strong leadership skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops and manages HIM department activities, workload and projects.
• Develops policies for standardization and regulated use of medical information.
• Ensures compliance with internal/external standards and JCAHO guidelines.
• Prepares core measure data and monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
• Manages staff selection, scheduling, evaluation and training needs.
• Develops strategic operating goals and budgets; tracks performance.
