Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking an experienced Health Information Management Manager in Birmingham, AL to lead the HIM department, oversee workload and projects, and ensure compliance with JCAHO and hospital standards. The role emphasizes policy development, data reporting, budget oversight, and staff leadership.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in health information management or health informatics, RHIA/RHIT certification, and at least 7 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health information management, health informatics or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
• RHIA or RHIT Certification by AHIMA.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and manage HIM Department activities, workload and projects.
• Develop policies for standardization and compliant use of medical information.
• Ensure availability of core measure data for Joint Commission and prepare reports.
• Manage staff including selection, scheduling, evaluation and counseling.
• Develop and monitor strategic goals and budget; report performance.
• Represent the department in hospital/health system meetings.
