Job summary

Creative Solutions Services, LLC seeks a HIM Manager to lead the Health Information Management department in Austin, TX. This 100% onsite role oversees records accuracy, security, and compliance while partnering with clinical, operations, compliance, and IT teams.

The ideal candidate holds RHIA or RHIT certification, a bachelor’s in HIM or related field, and at least five years of HIM experience with some leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive HIM experience.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, CMS regulations, and healthcare documentation practices.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and HIM technologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the HIM department, ensuring SLAs and productivity targets are met.
• Lead, coach, and develop HIM staff, supervisors, and team leads.
• Establish departmental goals, monitor performance metrics, and implement process improvements.
• Ensure effective staffing, workload distribution, and resource utilization.
• Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and customer service.
• Oversee medical record completion, scanning, indexing, record maintenance, and release of information processes.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and availability of patient health information.
• Monitor compliance with documentation standards and record retention requirements.
• Support audits and regulatory reviews as needed.
• Develop and track KPIs related to productivity, quality, turnaround times, and customer satisfaction.
• Identify trends and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• Produce and present operational reports to leadership.
