Job summary

AltaPointe Health Systems seeks a Health Information Manager to lead the organization, coordination, and maintenance of health information systems across the primary care continuum. You will ensure compliance with health information laws and privacy regulations and keep HIM staff informed of updates, policies, and procedures.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree with RHIT credential and at least two years in managing HIM functions; a coding credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with RHIT credential and at least 2 years of HIM management experience.
• Coding credential (CCS, CCS-P, CPC) preferred.
• Knowledge of DMH, JC, Medicaid/Medicare standards.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information privacy.

Responsibilities

• Organize, coordinate, and maintain health information systems across the primary care continuum.
• Update HIM team on privacy laws and policy changes.
• Coordinate release of protected health information with staff.
• Ensure medical record audits are conducted and reported monthly.
• Coordinate dictation and transcription when needed.
• Collaborate with Finance to prevent revenue cycle interruptions due to record delays.
• Oversee administrative review to meet DMH standards.
• Provide training on policy and procedure updates.
