Job summary

Monarch Healthcare Management is seeking a Health Information Manager to oversee the integrity and privacy of medical records across our Minnesota facilities. You will ensure accurate, organized records, maintain confidentiality, and support compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.

You will supervise HI staff, coordinate releases of information, manage census data, and help with quality reviews and coding audits to maintain data quality and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• Previous HI Assistant or HUC experience, training in medical records, and coding experience.
• Knowledge of regulations, survey processes, documentation requirements, and legal issues.
• Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid payment systems.

Responsibilities

• Health Information Security & HIPAA Compliance: Safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and security of medical records in line with HIPAA and regulations.
• Release of Information & Record Retention: Manage requests and maintain compliant filing, retention, and destruction of records.
• Census Management & Data Integrity: Maintain census data, case mix changes, and pay status with audit trails and current ICD coding.
• Admission & Ongoing Records Management: Coordinate admissions, maintain medical records, perform audits and coding, secure physician signatures, monitor orders.
• Discharge Record Completion & Quality Review: Oversee discharge documentation, track deficiencies, and ensure timely physician completion.
• Department Leadership, QAPI & Collaboration: Supervise HI staff, support HIPAA compliance and QAPI initiatives.
