Job summary

Kansas Health System is seeking an HIM Manager to oversee operations ensuring integrity, timeliness, and accuracy of medical records. The role uses reports and dashboards to optimize staffing, workload, and quality, while guiding staff development and policy adherence.

The manager leads HR processes, manages budgets, and serves as a resource on quality and compliance across the Health Information Department, aligning with system strategies.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Health Information Management or Coding Certificate.
• High School Diploma.
• 5+ years health information management experience, including 1 year in leadership.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in related field.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day operations within the HIM department including Release of Information, Document Management and Scanning, and Patient Identity functions and staff.
• Provides leadership presence and guidance; reviews workload, prioritizes tasks, and oversees budgeting and staffing.
• Manages HR functions: interviewing, orientation, training, performance evaluations, and payroll coordination.
• Develops policies to increase efficiency and ensures adherence to procedures and standards.
• Coordinates quality improvement data and analyzes reports to improve quality and throughput.

Education

Associates Degree in Health Information Management or Coding Certificate

High School Diploma

Bachelor's Degree in Health Information, Health Administration, Finance or related field
