Job summary

Qualifications

• 5 years of HIM or medical records experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Education: Associate degree in Health Information Administration/Technology preferred.
• Certifications: RHIT or RHIA preferred; Coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operational direction for Health Information Management (HIM), including: ensuring timely and accurate coding of hospital and physician charges; medical records completion and storage, transcription verification, clinical documentation improvement, patient release information, and data collection; supervision of HIM staff.
