Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Health Information Management Director to lead the HIM department and CDI teams in a complex, regulatory environment. The role focuses on privacy, ROI operations, and coordinated coding and documentation workflows.

You will oversee medical records, ensure accurate reporting, and partner with Revenue Cycle, Compliance, and Quality to support seamless patient care and regulatory compliance across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare field, or related area.
• Working knowledge of HIM operations, HIPAA, patient privacy, and regulatory standards.
• Knowledge of inpatient/outpatient coding relationships; hands-on coding not required.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and manage onsite and remote staff.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to analyze operational data and drive improvements.
• Capacity to manage confidential information and complex compliance scenarios.

Responsabilités

• Directs day-to-day operations of the HIM department ensuring accurate, confidential health information management.
• Provides leadership to onsite HIM staff and remote CDI team members including performance management and development.
• Serves as Privacy Officer with guidance on HIPAA and patient privacy matters.
• Oversees ROI operations and liaises with ROI vendor to fulfill requests compliantly.
• Monitors chart completion, physician deficiencies, and provider communications; escalates aging issues.
• Collaborates with Patient Financial Services, Revenue Cycle, and other departments to resolve issues.
• Coordinates with centralized coding operations and monitors coding queues and turnaround times.
• Reviews and supports CDI program metrics and provider education.
• Oversees vital-record processes including birth certificates and regulatory reporting.
• Chairs or participates in facility committees related to HIM, compliance, and QA.
• Partners with physicians and leadership to address system, workflow, and documentation needs.
