Job summary

Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, IA is seeking a Department Secretary in the Health Information Department on a PRN (as needed) basis. The role supports release of information requests, documentation scanning, and chart management to ensure accurate and timely patient records.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification as preferred and accepted with six-month timeline; Mandatory Reporter training is a plus and must be completed within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or better.
• BLS certification is required as an employee and must be maintained as part of employment.
• Mandatory Reporter training certification is a plus and must be obtained within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Process release of information requests for Floyd Valley Healthcare and Floyd Valley Clinics.
• Scan hospital and clinic documentation and transfer external documents from the fax queue to the chart.
• Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of patient records in the Health Information Department.
