Job summary

Korean Community Service Center of Greater Washington (KCSC) seeks a Health Program Coordinator for Project REACH. This part-time, 32 hrs/week role focuses on Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Family Healthy Weight initiatives to promote health equity.

You will recruit participants, communicate with families, and coordinate with staff and partners to ensure program delivery. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field, experience in fitness instruction or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health, community health, social work, or related field.
• Experience in fitness instruction or leading structured activity sessions for children and families is a plus.
• 1 year of experience in public health initiatives, program coordination, community health, health services, or related human service field preferred.
• Knowledge of racial and ethnic health disparities, social determinants of health, and community engagement strategies.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and the Internet.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
• Bilingual English-Korean fluency (verbal and written) is necessary; knowledge of the Korean immigrant community is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and access to insured vehicle for travel to events and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Recruit children and youth under 17 to participate in the 12-week program and serve as main contact for families.
• Develop culturally responsive program strategies to promote health equity and reduce disparities.
• Coordinate logistics for weekly sessions with partner sites and internal staff.
• Identify and engage partner organizations and community stakeholders to support implementation.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and contracted professionals (fitness trainers, dietitians).
• Design and produce program materials and lead outreach events to promote the program.
• Build relationships with community leaders, schools and local organizations.
• Oversee data collection (attendance, feedback, health metrics) and report progress.
