Rio Tinto's Kennecott mine near Salt Lake City is seeking a Superintendent Health and Emergency Services to lead health systems, injury management and emergency response activities. This role shapes health risk insight and partners with site leaders to strengthen decision‑making and health outcomes.

Reporting to the HSE leadership team, you will drive continuous improvement of health programs, support audits and compliance, and develop a capable HSE team across the operation in Utah.

Qualifications

• Committed to safety and team safety.
• Extensive experience in HSE management, preferably in mining/industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA and US Environmental regulations.
• Proven ability to develop and improve HSE programs and systems.
• Leadership experience with diverse teams and coaching/mentoring skills.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Analytical approach to identify risks and drive improvements.

Responsabilités

• Lead development and continuous improvement of health systems including hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Provide expert guidance to operational leaders to strengthen HSEQ management and audit programs.
• Analyze health performance data to identify trends and opportunities for health improvements.
• Lead strategic programs across clinic operations, injury management, hygiene and emergency response.
• Support audits, health risk assessments and compliance reviews to identify and control hazards.
• Ensure compliance with US regulatory requirements and Rio Tinto policies.
• Provide senior leaders with clear health performance insights and recommendations.
• Lead, coach and develop the HSE team across the operation.
