Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking an HSE Advisor to support health deliverables at Kennecott Underground near Salt Lake City, Utah. You will help implement health systems, review exposures, and develop practical solutions to raise health standards across the workforce.

You’ll work with the HSE team to anticipate risks, address critical issues, and maintain strong health performance. Reporting to the Manager, Health Safety and Environment, you will collaborate with operations and functions to ensure

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
Knowledge of sampling plans and industrial hygiene testing (OSHA/MSHA exposure limits).
Ability to support compliance with statutory provisions and HS&EQMS.
Ability to deliver timely reporting against plans and regulatory requirements.
Analytical mindset to anticipate risks and manage critical issues.

Responsibilities

Assist in implementing Rio Tinto health systems and processes.
Review health exposures and develop solutions to improve health standards.
Support contractors and employees to comply with health procedures and legislation.
Conduct regular health audits and address hazards.
Monitor health performance in the underground operation.
Advise management on critical health issues and actions to reduce risk.
