Job summary

Family Health Center – Southwest Indiana is seeking a Health Insurance Navigator to help patients enroll in Medicaid, Marketplace plans, and other resources. The role collaborates with internal teams to document coverage in the EHR and supports outreach and education.

Located at Martin County FHC, the position requires high school diploma, navigator certification, and a valid driver's license; strong communication and customer service skills are essential to assist uninsured and underinsured

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Certification: Health Insurance Navigator certification required within the timeframe established by the organization.
Licensure: Valid Driver’s License.
Experience with health insurance enrollment, patient assistance, or community resources preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist uninsured and underinsured patients in identifying and obtaining health insurance coverage (Medicaid, Marketplace, and other programs).
Help document newly obtained coverage in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Coordinate with Registration and Billing staff to ensure proper coverage documentation.
Support outreach, education, and connections to community resources based on patient needs.
Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all interactions.
