Job summary

ACCESS Family Care in Missouri is seeking a compassionate Certified Application Counselor to help individuals and families gain access to affordable health insurance coverage. This role provides eligibility and enrollment assistance for Medicaid, CHIP, and Health Insurance Marketplace plans, and educates clients on available options.

The position requires enrolling clients, conducting outreach, and coordinating follow-up services while ensuring HIPAA compliance and culturally competent care

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in Public Health, Outreach, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to serving underserved and diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with applications and renewals for Medicaid, CHIP, and Marketplace health insurance programs.
• Educate patients and community members about affordable health coverage options.
• Conduct outreach and enrollment events throughout the community.
• Track applications, follow up on enrollment status, and maintain accurate records and reporting.
• Provide referrals and resources to individuals seeking additional assistance.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in required training programs and continuing education opportunities.
• Deliver culturally and linguistically appropriate services to diverse populations.
• Collaborate with clinic staff to support ACCESS Family Care's mission and core values.
