Job summary

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment seeks a Health Professional IV to lead training of HP II and HP III staff in regulatory compliance and deficiency reporting. The role includes classroom, on-site, and simulation-based surveys across Colorado, with travel and pre-survey prep responsibilities.

You will supervise trainees, develop training plans, and ensure accuracy and defensibility of work products, contributing to high quality licensure and survey processes.

Qualifications

  • Seven years of relevant experience in health care in a facility or program regulated by HFEMSD.
  • Or a combination of related education and experience equal to seven years.
  • Must substantiate that you meet the minimum qualifications when filling out the Work Experience section of the application.

Responsibilities

  • Trains new HP II’s and HP III’s in the classroom and in the field on processes for assessing and evaluating facility compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Instructs new surveyors in tasks such as entrance conference, sample selection, record review, interviewing patients/residents, family, and staff, observation of service delivery, decision-making, and exit conference.
  • Assists trainees in deficiency report writing and provides feedback for improvement.
  • Provides feedback to supervisor and section manager based on the trainees’ progress and training needs.
