Health and Wellness Director/Director of Nursing

The Director of Nursing (DON) is an integral member of the management team, contributing healthcare leadership and expertise to promote an environment of optimal living for residents. The DON will plan, organize, and direct clinical services in accordance with regulations, policies, and guidelines to ensure quality care. Compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, along with a focus on employee and resident safety, is essential.

Required Skills, Experiences, and Competencies
  • Leadership: Maintain, manage, and inspire a team through recruiting, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Resident Care: Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and provide personalized, empathetic care.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with staff, vendors, and medical professionals.
  • Quality Assurance: Lead staff meetings, manage service agreements, ensure compliance with healthcare protocols, and update physician orders.
  • Oversight: Manage medication, audits, incident reports, and investigations.
  • Emergency Response: Assist during emergencies.
Industry Experience
  • Five years' management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of standards for geriatric services, complex medical conditions, and promoting independence.
  • Experience in geriatric nursing or gerontology is highly preferred.
  • Up-to-date safety and infection control expertise.
  • Experience in building and leading effective nursing teams.
Leadership Qualities
  • Judgment and Diplomacy: Manage diverse perspectives and motivate teams.
  • Conflict Resolution: Experience in balanced conflict management.
  • Servant Leadership: Mission-oriented, compassionate, humble, and driven by success and learning.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • LVN, LPN, or RN with a current license; RN preferred.
  • Five to seven years' experience in senior care preferred.
