Health and Wellness Director/Director of Nursing

Department: THE GARDENS AT MARYSVILLE INDEPENDENT LIVING AND ASSISTED LIVING

The Director of Nursing (DON) is an integral member of the management team, providing healthcare leadership to promote optimal living for residents. The DON will plan, organize, and oversee clinical services, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines to deliver high-quality care. The role emphasizes employee and resident safety.

Responsibilities include:

  • Resident Care, Nursing Leadership, and Regulatory Safety and Compliance

Required Skills, Experiences, and Competencies:

  • Leadership: Manage and inspire a team through recruiting, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Resident-Centric Care: Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and provide personalized care.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with staff, vendors, and medical professionals.
  • Quality Assurance: Lead staff meetings, manage service agreements, and ensure compliance.
  • Oversight: Manage medication, audits, incident reports, and investigations.
  • Emergency Response: Support the community during emergencies.

Industry Experience:

  • Five years of management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of geriatric care standards, complex medical conditions, and promoting independence.
  • Experience in geriatric nursing or gerontology is highly preferred.
  • Expertise in safety and infection control.
  • Experience in building and leading nursing teams.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
  • LVN, LPN, or RN license in good standing; RN preferred.
  • Five to seven years’ experience in senior care preferred.

The salary range is $77,969 to $120,786, based on education, experience, and certifications.
