Job description

Join to apply for the Health Access Rep role at Capital Health (US).

It is a five-time Magnet-Recognized health system, comprising 2 hospitals and over 250 physicians and providers offering primary, specialty, and hospital-based care throughout the region.

Position Overview
  • Follow computer system and department procedures to accurately obtain demographic, diagnosis, and insurance information during registration.
  • Register patients efficiently, meeting productivity goals.
  • Use approved scripts to present forms and obtain signatures.
  • Comply with procedures and regulations concerning Medicare Secondary Payer, Advance Beneficiary Notice, and Patients Rights forms.
  • Follow payer requirements for authorizations, referrals, and benefit verifications.
  • Support financial screening and charity care procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support data collection efforts.
  • Attend mandatory department meetings and adhere to patient identification policies.
  • Serve as a resource and liaison for the Patient Access department and related entities.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in healthcare or customer service; knowledge of medical terminology and insurance preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, fine motor activities, and keyboard use.
  • Occasional tasks involve climbing, carrying, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, reaching, and kneeling.
  • Continuous demands include talking and hearing.
  • Lifting requirements: 15 lbs. from floor to waist, 10 lbs. at waist level and above.
  • Sensory requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and hearing.
  • Exposure risks include bloodborne pathogens, airborne diseases, noise, and dust.

Offers are contingent upon successful onboarding and a pre-employment physical. An annual flu vaccine is required unless exempted for medical or religious reasons. Capital Health will never request social security numbers or date of birth during the application process.
