Job summary

Planters Bank & Trust Company is seeking a teller to manage the day-to-day teller line activities, handle deposits and cash transactions, and issue financial instruments while maintaining cash balance and security. The role includes cross-selling bank services and responding to customer inquiries in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred), basic accounting knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic Accounting knowledge.
• Bank experience not required but strongly preferred.
• 6 months of cash handling and balancing money transactions within prior four years.
• Communication skills in dealing with customers and employees.
• Satisfactory Credit Bureau and Background Check Report.
• Equipment: Computer Software, Ten-Key calculator, Photocopier, Telephone, Fax Machine.

Responsibilities

• Manages all the teller line activities.
• Paying and Receiving funds for deposit account transactions.
• Issuing Money Orders, Official Checks, Savings Bonds, and other financial products.
• Maintains security and balancing of cash on daily basis and other collections.
• Cross-sells Bank’s Services and Products; responds to customer inquiries.
• May assist in teller training; vault maintenance; assist in opening/closing night vault.
