Job summary

Planters Bank & Trust Company is seeking a teller to provide prompt, accurate customer service at the teller window. The role includes handling cash, deposits, and withdrawals, while maintaining confidentiality and cross-selling bank products.

The position emphasizes integrity, teamwork, and adherence to bank policies; prior cash handling experience and basic accounting knowledge are preferred. Training will cover all branch operations and security procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic accounting knowledge.
• 6 months of cash handling and balancing money transactions within prior four years.
• Bank experience not required but strongly preferred.
• Communication skills in dealing with customers and employees.
• Satisfactory Credit Bureau and Background Check Report.
• Equipment: Computer Software, Ten-Key calculator, Photocopier, Telephone, Fax Machine.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strict standard of confidentiality involving all transactions.
• Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, customers and potential customers.
• Comply with all department and company policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the fulfillment of department and company objectives and goals.
• Perform as a team member in allocation and coordinating the work flow.
• May assist in training new employees and answer co-worker questions.
• Will be involved in ordering, receiving, verifying, and distributing cash.
• Operate a teller window to serve the bank's customers by accepting deposits, cashing checks, and providing receipts.
