Job summary

The Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) seeks a Head Start Teacher to support 3- to 5-year-old children. You will develop and implement individualized education plans, guiding social, cognitive, and emotional growth in collaboration with the MRDC team.

You will work with the Site Supervisor and MRDC staff to deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum, monitor progress, and ensure a safe, engaging classroom environment in Maryland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field.
• At least one year of early childhood classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Must pass criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.
• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children.
• Refer children with special needs or challenging behavior to appropriate staff.
• Develop and implement IEPs and behavior plans with the team and families.
• Maintain a positive learning atmosphere and a safe classroom environment.
• Attend training, staff meetings, and document progress in portfolios.
