Job summary

All Kids Academy Head Start is seeking a Head Start Teacher to provide quality school readiness programs and comprehensive services in East County. The role centers on creating a safe, nurturing classroom that supports each child’s development while collaborating with families and staff.

You will implement a developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum, conduct assessments, and promote parental involvement to help children reach readiness milestones.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in child development, early childhood education, or related field
• 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education or Child Development courses, including three supervised field units
• CTC Child Development Associate Teacher Permit or higher, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment

Responsibilities

• Establish a safe, healthy, nurturing learning environment for children
• Support social, intellectual and emotional development
• Implement developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum
• Build curriculum from caregiving routines as a shared experience
• Supervise children indoors and outdoors at all times
• Plan and conduct learning experiences and integrated curriculum
• Complete developmentally appropriate assessments and screenings for all children
• Develop individualized activities based on parental input and assessments
• Promote parent involvement and continua with families
• Coordinate with teacher assistant and other staff
• Incorporate cultural, linguistic, and family values into plans
• Maintain routines and transitions in a hygienic, consistent manner
• Ensure IEPs and inclusion of children with disabilities
• Conduct home visits and parent/teacher conferences
• Document observations and maintain child portfolios
• Provide activities for children with special needs
• Work with staff to maintain professional and positive environment

Education

Associate degree or higher in child development, early childhood education, or related field
