Job summary

All Kids Academy Head Start is seeking a Head Start Teacher Assistant to support classroom teaching and learning in East County San Diego. Under the Center Director and Teacher, you will help provide a comprehensive program meeting the educational, emotional, social, health, nutritional, and psychological needs of children.

Position requires 12 semester units in ECE/Child Development, 6 months ECE experience, and an Associate Teacher Permit or enrollment to obtain within 2 years.

Qualifications

• 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education or Child Development are required.
• 6 months of work experience in a licensed ECE setting.
• Associate Teacher Permit or higher, or enrollment to obtain within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist in teaching and learning activities in Head Start preschool setting.
• Support the teacher in providing a comprehensive program addressing educational, emotional, social, health, nutritional and psychological needs of children.
• Follow directions from the classroom Teacher and work well with young children.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment.
• Assist in implementing developmental assessments and individual goals.
• Support planning and preparation of materials and activities with the teacher.
